The rocks mountains and sea at Kaikoura provide some amazing shapes and textures, this shot is from a trip last year.
A trip to the beach can be quite dramatic when the storm clouds roll in.
Last weekend I had a trip to Kaikoura, always a lovely place to visit and even more fascinating following the recent earthquakes. The roads are still being repaired but the journey is pretty good now. The foreshore has been uplifted by the quakes and looks different but still very beautiful with the sea, rocks and mountains.
Another shot from a fun shoot at Sumner Beach standing in for Themyscira with the gorgeous Christine Cosgrove as Wonder Woman.
Another view from the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki.
Looking out from the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki.
Sunset at Lake Tekapo, a long exposure of about 90 seconds to smooth out the water.
Just as the sun was setting over Lake Wanaka the last golden light was hitting the hills at the end of the lake.
Sunset from near the Wanaka lake outlet to the Clutha river, lovely colours and interesting shapes on the lake shore.
I am just back from a trip to Lake Wanaka, one of my favourite places. On Thursday evening when we arrived I walked down to the lake front from our campsite and was lucky enough to take some images of a gorgeous sunset.
A couple of weeks ago I went on a field trip with my local photographic club to Lake Tekapo, a few sunsets and sunrises ensued! This was sunset on the first night with lovely colours and clouds in the sky.
Sunset over rocks at Kaikoura in North Canterbury.
Kaikoura at sunset, but take away the colours and the textures in the sea and rocks are still lovely.
This shot is from a trip I took to Kaikoura over the Easter weekend, this is sunset at the same location I made some sunrise images a few weeks ago. Kaikoura is always lovely and always different.
The Moeraki Boulders with a little bit of colour, still not a great sunset though.
I have been very busy over Christmas and New Year but not taking many landscapes, but more of that later perhaps. This is from a trip to Oamaru, a long exposure of the harbour a little before sunset.
Something from the West Coast of the South Island. Waves crashing onto the rocks at sunset.
These rocks are the nuggets at Nugget Point, they can look golden at sunset but the light wasn't quite right on this occasion.
I am just back from a trip to the Catlins in the south of the South Island. A lovely place with great waterfalls, wildlife and coastline. This is the Nugget Point lighthouse at sunset, the nuggets are the rocks off the end of the peninsula, the light up with a golden colour at sunset.
I often head to my local beach to take images in particular I enjoy taking abstract images of the sea and sky. This was taken a few days ago around sunset.
