The rocks mountains and sea at Kaikoura provide some amazing shapes and textures, this shot is from a trip last year.
A trip to the beach can be quite dramatic when the storm clouds roll in.
Sunrise on the way to Castle Hill with my local photographic club. A cold and early start but the local sheep seemed warm enough in the early morning light.
Taken on my first trip to Kaikoura since the earthquakes. Still a lovely place and lots of people enjoying it. This was a long exposure of the beach, sea and sky.
Sunset at Lake Tekapo, a long exposure of about 90 seconds to smooth out the water.
Driving to Wanaka I stopped at Lake Pukaki, it was clearly raining at the end of the lake!
This tree is well known at the Devil's Punchbowl Falls at Arthur's Pass. Framed against the falls makes for an interesting image (hopefully).
A couple of weeks ago I went on a field trip with my local photographic club to Lake Tekapo, a few sunsets and sunrises ensued! This was sunset on the first night with lovely colours and clouds in the sky.
It has been a while since I posted here, I have been very busy but mainly with portraits some of which I will share soon. This was from last weekend, the lovely Avalanche Creek Falls, a few minutes walk from the centre of Arthur's Pass village.
Above Port Levy on Banks Peninsula there are some trees with fabulous gnarled shapes, this is one, a bit of snow on the ground and it was falling!
Taken early on Saturday morning in Kaikoura, lovely colours but not many clouds. I liked the colours and textures in the foreground.
