A trip to the beach can be quite dramatic when the storm clouds roll in.
Taken on my first trip to Kaikoura since the earthquakes. Still a lovely place and lots of people enjoying it. This was a long exposure of the beach, sea and sky.
I often head to my local beach to take images in particular I enjoy taking abstract images of the sea and sky. This was taken a few days ago around sunset.
Back to Magnet Bay, so many different textures on the beach.
A short walk along the Heaphy Track gets you to Scotts Beach, fantastic waves and rocks!
Fog rising from the sea at dawn.
Something from our local beach, a cold morning and mist was rising from the water.
Another Milky Way image this time with a selfie :-)
An attempt at photographing the Milky Way on my local beach, a little light pollution from a car parked on the beach but otherwise it worked quite well. This is a stitched panorama.
An interesting sky and a branch on the beach on a windy day.
Just before dawn at Nape Nape beach, blues, oranges and yellows.
Another image from an early start on Kairaki Beach.
Limestone cliffs at Nape Nape beach bathed in the early morning light.
Shooting towards the sun at dawn, I think the flare helps this. Such a lovely morning.
An early start yesterday for sunrise at Kairaki Beach, it started out very clear but then the fog rolled in giving a range of colours and moods.
The sea swirling around the rocks at Nape Nape beach at dawn.
Lovely colours in the sky and dawn on Nape Nape beach.
Looking down Nape Nape beach at sunrise, dark sand the white rocks!
Sunrise at Nape Nape beach north of Christchurch. I love long exposures adding motion to water. The sun has just risen here and the colours, rocks and water looked lovely. The way water is moving it looks like there is a plug hole beside the rock!
Shag Rock at Sumner used to be rather larger but it collapsed during the Christchurch earthquakes. There wasn't as much colour in the sky as I had hoped this morning but I liked the lines in this.
