The third in my series of time images; it seems easy to let time control you, have you ever felt that way?
The second in my series of 'Time' images, do you hold on to time, are you looking backwards rather than forwards? These were my thoughts in making this image.
I arrived home yesterday to find a copy of D-Photo magazine waiting for me and the amazing news that one of my images came 2nd in the Landscape category in the 2018 Sigma D-Photo Amateur Photographer of the year. There were so many gorgeous images in the competition I feel very privileged to have made 2nd place.
I have trying to put together a series images based around time. This was my first image and it turned out much less dark than some of the others have. It is easier to be happy when you are in control of time rather than time controlling you.
I was fortunate enough recently to win a gold medal in this year's North Shore Salon of Photography with this image of Kairaki Beach, entitled "The Line Between Sea And Sky". A long exposure taken on a calm mild evening last year.
I had a bit of fun with a portrait of the lovely Georgia Baynon and an image from Moria Gate Arch at Karamea on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
A simple natural light portrait of the lovely Georgia taken on a natural light workshop run by Scott Fowler. A fun day with lovely models and lots of different options to try. This was taken with window light a 50mm lens.
For the last few years I have entered images into the PSNZ National Exhibition, and have been lucky enough to have a number of images selected for the exhibition. This year I was awarded a bronze medal for this composite image made with the help of some lovely Cosplayers.
Another shot from a fun shoot at Sumner Beach standing in for Themyscira with the gorgeous Christine Cosgrove as Wonder Woman.
This is from a great shoot at Sumner Beach with the lovely Christine Cosgrove as Wonder Woman.
Over the New Year I took a trip around the north of the South Island of New Zealand, a few places I haven't been before including, a short walk from the main road, to this little waterfall near Havelock.
This is the River Brittle on the Isle of Skye heading towards the Black Cuillins, the rain was coming and going (and heavy) which made getting clean images very hard!
In between showers on the Isle of Skye, looking across at the Raasay and Rona from half way up to the Old Man of Storr.
Walking up to the Old Man of Storr, looking back over the Storr Lochs towards Raasay and Rona.
The Storr in the mist, if you look hard there are some very small people.
Sunrise from the harbour in Portree, Isle of Skye. A lovely place to be.
Looking back over the Storr Lochs on the Isle of Skye.
On my recent trip to Europe we travelled to the Isle of Skye, stopping at various places en route, this is the lovely Queen's View overlooking Loch Tummel near Pitlochry.
I am recently back from a trip to Europe and stopped for a couple of days on the Isle of Skye where I was born. This is on the way to the Old Man of Storr.
