I spent Queen's Birthday weekend this year on the West Coast, at Punakaiki. This is a view over the pancake rocks, amazing blow holes and rock formations north of Greymouth.
My framed prints are ready for exhibition, still lots to do before the opening on 10th March but good progress. Titles to be made and I still need to finalise the order of the images when I put them up.
I am currently in the throws of preparing for an exhibition images with one of my photographic friends, Sharon Brophy. The exhibition is being held in the gallery at my local library here in Kaiapoi - Art on the Quay. The process of selecting, preparing and organising images is well underway but is taking quite a lot of time. We will be displaying images in a range of media, from traditional framed prints to metal, canvas, corrugated iron and wood.
The exhibition runs from the 10th March until the 21st April, more details will be found on my Facebook event page.
Taken on my first trip to Kaikoura since the earthquakes. Still a lovely place and lots of people enjoying it. This was a long exposure of the beach, sea and sky.
I took a trip to Wellington at New Year, somewhere I haven't been for a number of years. The weather when I arrived was much as I remember when I arrived there first from the UK, with low clouds over the city and green belt.
Sunset at Lake Tekapo, a long exposure of about 90 seconds to smooth out the water.
Just as the sun was setting over Lake Wanaka the last golden light was hitting the hills at the end of the lake.
Sunset from near the Wanaka lake outlet to the Clutha river, lovely colours and interesting shapes on the lake shore.
Driving to Wanaka I stopped at Lake Pukaki, it was clearly raining at the end of the lake!
I am just back from a trip to Lake Wanaka, one of my favourite places. On Thursday evening when we arrived I walked down to the lake front from our campsite and was lucky enough to take some images of a gorgeous sunset.
This tree is well known at the Devil's Punchbowl Falls at Arthur's Pass. Framed against the falls makes for an interesting image (hopefully).
A couple of weeks ago I went on a field trip with my local photographic club to Lake Tekapo, a few sunsets and sunrises ensued! This was sunset on the first night with lovely colours and clouds in the sky.
These lovely falls are in Arthur's Pass National Park, always lovely and a popular walk as well.
It has been a while since I posted here, I have been very busy but mainly with portraits some of which I will share soon. This was from last weekend, the lovely Avalanche Creek Falls, a few minutes walk from the centre of Arthur's Pass village.
A lovely sunrise at Kaikoura, I liked the seaweed colour matching the sky.
Above Port Levy on Banks Peninsula there are some trees with fabulous gnarled shapes, this is one, a bit of snow on the ground and it was falling!
Something different again, I did a shoot with the lovely Amanda and at the end we did a few hair flicks just for fun. It gives quite an interesting look I think.
Sunset over rocks at Kaikoura in North Canterbury.
Kaikoura at sunset, but take away the colours and the textures in the sea and rocks are still lovely.
This shot is from a trip I took to Kaikoura over the Easter weekend, this is sunset at the same location I made some sunrise images a few weeks ago. Kaikoura is always lovely and always different.
